Proposed A new line between Sriperumbudur and Guduvancheri

A new line between Sriperumbudur and Guduvancheri with a spur line to Irungattukottai, Avadi was announced in the Railway Budget 2011. The proposed 55 kilometre railway line, which connects Avadi and Guduvancheri via Sriperumbudur and Oragadam, is estimated to cost about 810 crore. Welcoming the budget announcement, several residents and industrialists said that it would make travel to the fast-developing Sriperumbudur-Irungattukottai industrial belt much easier. The proposed railway line will connect developing industrial hubs and would benefit several people.
